Stretching

I'm not claiming I'm a great writer or anything, but I think Woody P. might have been trying a bit too hard to be clever when he wrote this:

"Hercules Louis Dousman and Patrick Dennis Bowlen will be linked forever.

Dousman, a fur trader in the 1800s in Prairie du Chien, Wis., became the state's first millionaire. Bowlen was born in Prairie du Chien and later roamed the Broncos sideline in a fur coat, and his football team will be valued this year by Forbes Magazine at a billion dollars."

Did I miss something, or is there absolutely no reason to bring Dousman into this story? How in the world are they linked? Am I forever linked to Michael Dell because I'm using one of his computers to type this?

No idea why this annoys me so much...
